Happy International Day of Peace 2007
Hello guys,
I haven't been in communication with you in awhile. Some of you know that I've moved from Turkey to Kuwait and that I hope to be here a long while. So far it's MUCH better than last year. I'm already working hard with the kids in the Model United Nations and I had my students do a project for September 21, 2007 UN Sanctioned International Day of Peace (um...remember that song 'Peace Day Peace Day...') My English classes were tasked with answering the question "What does Peace Mean to you?" in a statement, a poem, or using at least 5 words in a creative way relating to peace. My World History Students were tasked with coming up with a project we can do on Sunday (since Friday is the weekend here) and we will be passing out blue ribbons (like the cancer ones) and they will also make bracelets out of pipe cleaners with peace signs on them. Since I only remembered about this on Tuesday, I feel that the projects actually are come out really well. As soon as I get DSL back, I'll put the pics of their posters up on my blog but, for now, they're on Facebook if you wish to see them. :)
Thinking of you on Peace Day!
Love,
La Peliroja
